Oracle Applications Database Administrator (DBA) Areas of Expertise
5 or more years experience working as a primary DBA on Oracle Applications databases (11i /R12 and Oracle DB 9i or 10g preferred)
Advanced database and application knowledge in the following areas: installation, upgrades, maintenance / patching, configuration parameters, and tuning
Experience in database cloning, backups, restores, patching
Thorough knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.0
Experience with 10g ASM and RAC configurations and maintenance
Experience supporting Oracle Discoverer 10g is a plus
Ability to understand and interpret advanced SQL queries (loops, exceptions, declares), table views, constraints, stored procedures and the impact of executing them in the database
Knowledge of Application Server 10g, Single Sign On is a plus.
Experience with detecting database locks, run away processes, printing from Oracle Applications, bouncing services (Apache, Notification mailer, concurrent managers), file tracing and debugging
Knowledge of IT Standards (SOX, ITIL), accounting, general business principles and internal controls a plus
Strong customer-service orientation including excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Ability to support on-call responsibilities
Oracle Applications Developer
Areas of Expertise
5 or more years of experience in developing on Oracle Applications (11i/R12 and Oracle DB 9i or higher preferred)
Experience in creating stored procedures, triggers, packages & services using Oracle PL/SQL
Strong working knowledge of Oracle development tools including Oracle Workflow Builder, Oracle Reports Oracle Forms, XML Publisher , BI Publisher and Oracle Discoverer
Strong working knowledge of Oracle standard API’s and interfaces used to import data into Oracle Applications
Knowledge of database design and file management techniques in an Oracle DB environment
Technically fluent in and/or strong aptitude for one or more of the following languages: PL SQL, Perl, XML and JAVA (including J2EE experience)
General technical knowledge and / or willingness to learn in the following areas: database solutions/tools, design, clustering/replication/warehousing, scripting, in multiple database arenas
Strong customer-service orientation including excellent written and oral communication skills in the English language
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills along with the ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Ability to support on-call responsibilities
B.A, B.Sc, M.Sc, MCA, B.Tech or B.E degree in computer related field is preferred although equivalent work experience may serve as a substitute
